Scorecard data for Economic Performance

Competing for economic growth and the accompanying jobs, wealth and people is among Pennsylvania's biggest challenges. There's huge pressure to improve the state's economic performance to meet the ever-changing demands of today's economy.

How does Pennsylvania's economic performance measure up? Here are a series of "score cards" to help you answer that question. For most of the measures, Pennsylvania is compared to 12 competitors - the 11 other largest states plus neighboring Maryland.

Personal income growth in Pennsylvania was slightly below the national average between 1994 and 2004.

While Pennsylvania's economy continues to grow, it is not keeping pace with our competitors or the nation as a whole.
